The year was 2006. And Tamil Nadu was getting ready for the Assembly elections. It was Simran who all of a sudden hogged the limelight by hitting the campaign trail for the then ruling party, the AIADMK.
However, the yesteryear heartthrob has now decided against politics. With the next elections for the Assembly fast approaching, the actress has cleared the air by saying she would not campaign for anyone this time.
“I am not made up for politics. I will not make a reentry into politics and I have other interests”, the former numero uno actress of Tamil film industry says.
Meanwhile, buzz is that the actress is making efforts to produce mega serials in small screen. Sources close to Simran say she herself would play the lead role in one of her production ventures for a popular television channel.
