The Florida-based International Institute of Church Management (IICM) will confer an honorary doctorate on actor and DMDK president Vijayakanth for his services to the society.
According to Edward Inbanathan, who is associated with the institute, the doctorate will be presented to the 'Captain' at a function in Chennai on December 3. "IICM's chief will take part in the event," he said.
Headquartered in the United States, IICM's key objective is to provide continuing education for pastors, evangelists, Bible teachers and Christian leaders. "We are happy to confer the doctorate on the Captain," he said.
Meanwhile, songs of Vijayakanth's forthcoming film 'Virudhagiri', which were launched a couple of days ago, have created waves among party workers with 'Yezhaigalin Thozhan…' and 'Makkal Oru Puram…' topping the list.
