Silambarasan is always known for the tactics of following his role model Ajith Kumar. Both of them do share a good wavelength by expressing their views and opinions on each others' movies.

Director Venkat Prabhu and the producers of 'Mankatha' decided to release the film on May 1st, 2011 for the occasion of Ajith Kumar's birthday. Now Silambarasan too goes for the same way as his producer Ganesh has plans of releasing 'Vaanam' for his birthday on February 3.

'Vaanam' is close on the heels of completion and was scheduled to hit screens on Feb 14. But now Ganesh of VTV Productions opts for a preponed schedule. The complete track album of 'Vaanam' will be released by mid of January.
