Aadukalam gets ‘U’ certificate
Dhanush’s Aadukalam directed by Vetrimaran, received a ‘U’ certificate from the Censor Board recently. Aadukalam is based on true incidents that took place in Madurai. Vetrimaran had stayed in Madurai for almost six months to prepare the screenplay and sought the help of a professor friend to write the dialogues in the Madurai dialect. Delhi model Tapasee (also spelt Tapsee) plays an Anglo-Indian girl and Dhanush’s love interest in Aadukalam. G.V. Prakash composes the music. Interestingly, Aadukalam will have two versions: festival cut and theatre cut. The festival cut (with no songs) will run for about 100 minutes and will be released directly in DVD. The film is all set to grace theatres for this Pongal.
