Ganesh Venkatram Happy on 'Kandahar' Movie Hit

Remember Ganesh Venkatram, who played the role of a tough cop with conviction in Kamal Haasan's home production 'Unnaipol Oruvan' last year?  Prior to that, he had also played Trisha's love interest in Prakash raj's home production 'Abhiyum Naanum'.
The tall and muscularly-built GV is extremely happy nowadays as his latest Malayalam film, in which he starred with the likes of Bollywood's Amitabh Bachchan & Mollywood's Mohanlal, has been doing great and has already been declared a 'hit'.  In fact, 'Kandahar' was his second film with Mohanlal, who played a significant role in Kamal's 'Unnaipol Oruvan'.

GV is quite happy that he got to rub shoulders with none other than Amitabh Bachchan in just his third film.  Amitabh plays his father in the film while Mohanlal plays a Major.  The film, as the title suggests, is based on the Kandahar-hijack which almost cost the ruling BJP its rule at the Centre a few years back.
An elated GV says that it was indeed a challenge for him to star against two legends of Indian cinema and credited the film's success to the efforts of the director Major Ravi.  "I learnt the nuances of acting and many other things from Amitabh Ji and Mohanlal Sir; I can't list them out but the tips I got were extremely useful," gushes GV.
"I'm extremely happy and proud to reveal that it was Mohanlal Sir who recommended my name to Ravi for the role I did in the film.  I'm grateful to him for having done so.  The film's Tamil version would release next month followed by the Hindi version much later.  I'm sure it would be received well," said GV.
