Noted playback singer and Carnatic vocalist Vani Jayaram was felicitated at the Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru, an annual music festival organised by popular music troupe Lakshman Sruthi.
This was followed by Vani Jayaram felicitating acclaimed Shastriya Sangeet musician Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and noted Carnatic musician and Chitra Veena exponent Shri Ravikiran during the latter's jugalbandhi performance scheduled for the same day.
Vani Jayaram was conferred the title South Indian Meera by Dasari Music Academy, Guntur way back in 2007, apart from several other national and regional awards.
She is a popular playback singer in almost all south Indian languages and many of her songs are evergreen hits.
