Anushka as Rani Rudrama Devi?
Tall beauty Anushka, who enthralled audiences with her performance in the heroine-centric biopic Arundhati last year, has reportedly bagged yet another heroine-centric film to be directed by ace Gunasekhar.
According to sources, the film will be a historic movie, based on the life of Rani Rudrama Devi (1259-1289), one of the few queens in Indian history who were rulers.
It is also learnt that this untitled film will be made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously with a whopping budget of Rs. 40 crores. However, an official announcement is awaited. The discussions are presently on.

Few weeks back, Vijayashanti famously announced that she would soon star as Rani Rudrama Devi. But now it is more or less confirmed that director Gunasekhar is looking to make the movie on the queen with Anushka playing the title role.

Even Rajamouli wanted to make the movie with Anushka as the heroine. But after Gunasekhar entered the scene he apparently dropped his plans.
