'Siruthai' made headlines even in satellite channels that don't feature cinema stories. The efforts taken by a group of people who belongs to certain community, protest against 'Siruthai' for carrying their leader's name 'Rocket Raja' in a bad light drew the attention of news channels.

Following the protests staged by them, actor Karthi has responded in a way that had cooled them down. His closer sources have requested them to watch the film first and understand the significance of 'Rocket Raja' character.
