Seedan Music Review – Fusion of classical  and mass

Seedan is the remake of Malayalam film Nandanam directed by Subramaniya Siva. The film earned lots of craze and hype due the presence of Dhanush in a cameo role which lasts for 40 minutes during the second half. The lead roles are played by Krishna, Ananya, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Vivek and lyricist Pa.Vijay. Music director Dheena has successfully completed his 50th film with Seedan. Lyrics penned by Pa. Vijay and Yugabharathi are well fit for the tunes. Let us see how Dhina has scored the music for his 50th album.

Munpani Kaala Poovil- 2.5/5
Vocals: Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Pa.Vijay
Dheena has given soft and simple music and the song jells with music lovers. Shreya Ghoshal's vocal is apt and the song takes off well with her cool rendition. The song is a would-be hit for Shreya Ghoshal's voice for her perfect Tamil diction. Pa Vijay's lyrics deserve a special mention. Good listen!!!!!!!

Valliamma- 2.75/5
Vocals: Shankar Mahadevan and Chinna Ponnu
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
The must listen song in the album. The song is a perfect mix of good folk and our local kuthu beats. Shankar Mahadevan and folk artist Chinna Ponnu's vocals flow flawlessly. Wow Hats off to Shankar Mahadevan for giving the required delight. Pa Vijay's lyrics are too catchy and will stick to our minds just in a single listen. Dheena has maintained the same pace all through the song without a drop down. The number will stay for long.

Enadhu Uyirai-2.5/5
Vocals: Prasanna & Janaki Iyer
Lyrics: Yugabharathi
Every album will surely come out with a romantic number and here it is. Sung by the young guns Prasanna and Janani Iyer is the right fit for the lyrics and music. Dheena made sure that the music doesn't dominate the lyrics at any part of the song. As romantic numbers gain loads of popularity, Enadhu Uyirai a pleasing romantic number has chances to stay for long on charts.

Saravana Samayal-2.5/5
Vocals: Hariharan & Dhanush
Lyrics: Pa. VijayExpected to be Dhanush's intro song it fully settles on food and can visualized with Dhanush singing and cooking at once. Though Dhanush doesn't sing but speaks few dialogues and sounds like a chef by giving instructions. We feel like Dhanush is singing as Hariharan's voice jells well for Dhanush. Pa. Vijay lyrics are mouth-watering. Finally one of the most enjoyable song in the album. Good number………

Yathumaghiye-2.75/5
Vocals: Shankar Mahadevan, Kavitha Krishnamurthy Subramanian
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
With a good take off the song's pace picks up in just first 10 seconds and never drops the tempo. Shankar Mahadevan is back with his second song and his uppermost pitch level is outstanding and Kavitha Krishnamurthy's tone weaves smoothly along with Shankar Mahadevan. Pa Vijay's lyrics and the sounds truly speak the emotion and the anxiety of a lover trying to get back his love. Dheena tried out a different tune by carefully deviating from his regular style. Stay tuned…….

Oru Naal Mattum-2/5
Vocals: KS Chithra
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
Being a solo number the number totally banks on Chithra's vocals. Music is very simple and has nothing fresh to offer.

Final Verdict:
However majority of the songs carry classical flavor, but Dheena tried to give something fresh for Seedan. Both mass and class have equal importance owing right mix of all genres. On the whole the album is okay and once the visuals are out the songs will surely appeal the audiences.
