The pretty Bhumika Chawla has gone public with her clarification that contrary to what has been appearing in section(s) of the print media during the past week or so, she has neither had any misunderstanding with her husband Bharat Thakur nor did she file the divorce suit with any Court.

The Punjab-based actress was a leading starlet in Tamil and Telugu films when she fell in love with an married Bharat, her yoga instructor more than a couple of years ago. In an apparent effort to retrieve lost ground and ‘reclaim’ her marked, Bhumika has been looking for plum offers in both these languages. She has a solitary assignment in Tamil (Thangar Bahchan’s ‘Kalavaadiya Pozhudhal’) opposite Prabhudeva.

Reports appeared in the media last week claiming that as a fall-out of some ‘serious’ and ‘irreconcilable’ misunderstanding between the couple, Bhumika had filed a divorce suit with the Court seeking separation from Bharat. It’s in this backdrop that Bhumika’s denial assumes significance.

“I had been to a public event recently on my own and without Bharat in tow. He was busy with some work and I didn’t want to bother him. This had been blown out of proportion with (some sections of) the media speculating that I had ‘fallen out’ with Bharat. I’ve been shuttling between Mumbai, Hyderabad and Dubai quite frequently and can’t hope to have Bharat by my side all the time.

“I was in Mumbai to take care of my ailing mother. I don’t know from where the journos are getting news items like I’m being ‘tortured’ or I was filing the divorce suit, etc. Sometimes, it’s rather amusing but at times, these reports only end up irritating,” says the Chawala girl.
