Shiv Sena is protesting statewide against Gautham's recent release 'Nadunisi Naigal' for its explicit portrayal of incest and child sexual abuse. The protesters also marched to the director's residence with dogs to express their disapproval for the movie, which makes the director to break his silence.

He issued a statement pertaining to the protest, which says
"Scenes found to be objectionable to the organsiation were bare essentials for the movie, without which the story line would be hollow, the organisation should not interfere with his freedom of expression"
