Mappillai Music Review

After giving a blockbuster like Aadukalam the audiences were high on expectations on Dhanush's forthcoming flick. Dhanush is acting in the first remake film of his father-in-law film.
The audio was launched a couple of days back and was graced by Dhanush, Hansika Motwani, Jayam Ravi, Bharath and Hansraj Saxena COO of Sun Pictures. Sony BMG is promoting the audio and the along with the audio a trailer of the film was also screened at the launch. Directed by Suraj the film is the remake version of Rajini's Mappillai released in 1987. Sun Pictures is going to start the promotion of Mappillai very soon.
Music is by Mani Sharma while cinematography is handled by Nirav Shah. Nemichand Jhabak and Hitesh Jhabak have produced the film. The film is expected to hit the screens soon after the World Cup Cricket wraps up.
Aru Padai- 2.5/5
Singers: Mukesh and Vijay Yesudas
Lyrics: Viveka
The track while listening itself clearly defines that it is intro song of Mappillai Dhanush. It represents Lord Murugan as sentimental factor. Vijay Yesudas has sung the song while Mukesh gave a good opening. Viveka has penned the lyrics. Aru Padai is some what in the lines of the introductory song of Ajith in Billa. One will surely start humming the song with the first listen itself. You can check out some electrifying dance of Dhanush. Nothing new, regular fast paced Thiruvizha song.
Love Love: 2.5/5
Singers: Rahul & Rita
Lyrics: Snehan
Mani Sharma gave a right mix of Teen Maar, melody and tapping tempo number. Rahul and Rita's lively voice added lot of vigor to the song. Snehan's lyrics are good and has blend well with music. This track strikes a chord of Mani's earlier compositions in Telugu. The swiftness keeps changing often and the drums are used well throughout the song. The tune attracts you at the first hear!
Onnu Rendu : 2.75/5
Singers: Mukesh & Saindhavi
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
Is there any album in Tamil without a kuthu number? This is a racy kuthu and typical folk kind of song beautifully rendered by Mukesh and Saindhavi. The track depicts the competition spirit between boys and girls. This track to remind Mani's past compositions in Telugu. Can be frequently heard in college culturals. Expected to be on top charts!
Ready Ready: 2.25/5
Singers: Ranjith & Saindhavi
Lyrics: Snehan
This track has two versions original and remix. Ranjith and Saindhavi have sung with ease and the expressive singing adds further to the sweet, free-flowing melody. The song has traditional drum beat blend with light guitar beat in the background. The visual is expected to be when Dhanush and Hansika Motwani fall in love with each other. Snehan appeared again by penning beautiful and catchy lyrics. The remix is like a club dance number. Will catch your attention only after giving few listens!
Ennoda Rasi Nalla Rasi : 2.25/5
Singer: Ranjith
This particular song is taken from Super star Mappillai just to add an advantage to the new version of 2001 version. This remix version of the original track will have Dhanush performing the styles of Super star Rajinikanth. Mani Sharma has maintained the originality by not making much change, which is appreciable. Ranjith has given the more energy to this number and Mani Sharma used lots of desi instruments to make the song peppy. Surely goes on air for some while!
Mappillai Theme Music – Instrumental
The theme track is mostly used in bits and pieces, when ever Dhanush wins over Manisha Koirala and expected during the naughty scenes the hero. It is a 2 minute fast paced promo track
Final Verdict:
Overall, Mani Sharma has delivered another peppy album with a Tollywood touch. The songs can't make into charts instantly. Mani Sharma doesn't try anything different in the album, as most of his albums are just the remake of his Telugu songs. If he comes and tries something fresh and new it will be appreciated.
