He was born as Siddharth Narayan to a Tamil Iyer family and his family hails from Thanjavur in Tamilnadu. He started his career as an assistant director in the camp of Maverick director Mani Ratnam later through one of his friend he was introduced to director Shankar for the film Boys which eventually turned his theatric debut.
