Ko: First blockbuster of the year

K.V. Anand’s racy entertainer Ko has been declared as the biggest blockbuster of the year by trade analysts. The film has been extremely doing well ever since its release. The film collected $ 70,400 in 11 venues [early estimates], with an average of $ 6,400 per screen. In UK, the film released in almost 15 centres, beating Shahrukh Khan’s My Name Is Khan, which released in 10 centres.

Jiiva, who plays the role of a photo journalist with ease, is on Cloud Nine. Ko also has debutant Karthika, Piaa, Ajmal Ameer and Prakashraj in prominent roles. Harris Jayaraj’s music and Richard Nathan’s camera work are other major highlights of Ko. Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giants has released the film worldwide. As per trade sources, the film has collected a whopping Rs 4.65 crores during its first weekend (April 22 to 24). The film also received great response in Scotland and according to sources, the theatres were jampacked. Interestingly, Ko was earlier offered to Karthi and Simbu.

“Sum ppl r vvvv upset wit KO success:( I am vvvv sorry 4 them!! Better luck next time!!” an elated Udhayanidhi tweeted.

In reply to that , Jiiva tweted “hahhahha I think I know few from tht lol.”

Now who are they referring to? Any guesses!
