Ace filmmaker K Balachander, whose was recently conferred with Dada Saheb Phalke award by the Central government has come up with a record of eight directors who had impressed him so far.

The eight names list includes Vasanth, Bala, Mani Ratnam, Ameer, Samuthirakani, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Vijay. These are the directors who have surprised the guru of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan with their directorial skills.

On describing the reason Balachander says "Bala always astonishes with his selection of characters, Ameer comes out with new ideas for each and every film, Vasanth makes films mostly in my style, Mani Ratnam is evergreen, Samuthirakani attracts with his sensible screenplay, Gautham Vasudev Menon makes a film look beautiful, Mysskin is skilled in making all genre films and Vijay is liked for his soft scripts and hard work.

Well all lucky eight might have been on cloud nine with such great director praising them for their skills in the field of direction.
