Renowned model, TV anchor and actress Shweta Menon's recent hot Malayalam film Kayam, starring character actor-villain Manoj K. Jayan and Tamil-Malayalam actor Bala in the lead roles, will be dubbed in Tamil as Thaaram. The dubbed version will be released in May.

Although Kayam, directed by Anil, did not make big business at the box office in Kerala, it could be the newsmaker for a long time due to a controversy ignited by Shweta Menon herself when she filed a complaint that her stills from Kayam were misused by the producers by selling them to Kunnath Pharmaceuticals for promoting their Ayurvedic aphrodisiac Musli Power Extra.

The Ernakulam Central police arrested Kunnath Pharmaceuticals' managing director K.C. Abraham recently in connection with the case and freed him on bail later. Shweta Menon's last Tamil film was Jeevan starrer Naan Avanillai 2.
