 Kollywood heaps laurels on KB

Accolades have been pouring in for legendary filmmaker K. Balachander, who has been conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke awards by the Indian government recently. The Producers' Council and FEFSI Union members met KB at his office and congratulated him.

Actor Kamal Haasan, who considers KB as his mentor, said that the award is long overdue for the legendary director. "It's long overdue. And if it had not been done, it will be a glaring disregard. I think he should start listening to many stories. At least, even if he doesn't want to make a film he should advise all and sundry. I was a nobody when he picked me up and so was Rajni. He should now pick up boys and impart as much knowledge as he can. He's in good health. He can probably direct a few more films if he so wishes," Kamal Haasan said in a press statement.

Meanwhile, Superstar Rajinikanth, Prakashraj and Vivek also congratulated KB on his achievements. CM Karunanidhi, Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Union Minister M.K. Alagiri issued statements felicitating Balachander.

The latest buzz is that the Tamil industry is planning to organize a grand felicitation ceremony for the film maker soon.
