Police officials on Sunday conducted inquiry with Vanitha Vijayakumar, after the actress approached the Chennai city Police Commissioner on Saturday with the complaint that her ex-husband Akash was refusing give her custody of their son, despite a Madras High Court order.
The entire process, conducted at the Nungambakkam Police Station on Sunday, was videographed. The actress's former husband Aaksh was also summoned to the station, sources said.
The court ruled that Vanitha's son Vijay Srihari would be with his father from Monday morning to Friday evening, when Akash would take the child to his mother's house after school. The child would remain with Vanitha till Monday morning.
"But Akash has defied the court order and refused to send my son to me. When I went to meet him on Thursday, he assaulted the people who accompanied me. I tried to lodge a complaint with the Virugambakkam police but did not receive assistance from them," Vanitha said.
