The latest discussion in Kollywood is that Suriya has outshined Vijay in terms of collections and remuneration. It is well known that Vijay is seeing low time for the past some time as his film Sura went on to be a flop at the box office. Even his film Kaavalan too stood as an average grosser.
Kollywood handsome Suriya has established a good name with mass and class films equally. His film Singam is said to be the best box office hit of 2010, this has made Suriya to outshine Vijay. With the change of the scenario Suriya has been reportedly paid a whopping amount of Rs. 16 crore in Maatraan which confirms that he has gone ahead of Vijay. But Vijay is paid Rs. 13 crore for Velayudham and his recent films.
The top position of any actor will be determined by two factors – box office collections and salary. So as Suriya surpassed in collections and remuneration it is believed that he has overtaken Vijay. More than the audience and fans the distributors are discussing more about this issue.
This situation has come up because the choosing of subjects with Suriya and Vijay differs. Suriya selects the scripts which match the taste of mass and class where as Vijay is selecting lesser qualitative scripts.
