Well, we know that many of you are very much eager to know the theme of Velayudham and to clear your excitement we bring you the gist of the story along with the characters narration of this action-packed thriller.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay plays the role of Vetrivel who lives with his mother and sister Saranya Mohan (Kaveri) in a small village. He is truly in love with Hansika (Vaidehi) and for the first time ever she will be seen as a village girl. One fine day Vijay will leave to Chennai to withdraw the money for his sister's wedding as he has invested in a chit-fund company. In an action sequence, he meets Genelia (Deepa) a TV news journalist.
Genelia working with the media gets irked with the series of issues that are troubling people and creates a fictional character Velayudham. She claims that it is Velayudham who is killing the baddies in the society. The people start believing in the character and during one bomb blast Vijay escapes with no effort, by chance, and people begin to refer to him as the superhero, Velayudham. On knowing this, Genelia meets Vijay and convinces him to continue the role of the superhero to which he agrees as he realizes that many others are cheated by the chit fund company…
