'Madhavapeddi Satyam Award' is given in the memory of a renowned singer and stage performer from Andhra. The award has been organized by his son Madhavapeddi Murthy, a famous Kuchipudi expert in the memory of his father.
This year the award was presented to singer S.P. Balasubramaniam for his contribution to the field of music. Famous singers of yesteryears M.S. Viswanthan and P.B. Srinivas too have received this award. Actress Lakshmi too was awarded the 'Madhavapeddi Satyam Award' for her contribution towards the field of acting.
In a five-decade musical career Madhavapeddi Satyam apart from singing was also a voice over artist for many popular names in the industry. SPB received the 'Madhavapeddi Satyam Award' at a function that was organized in Chennai last Tuesday evening.
