Silambarasan has said that Nayanthara was never approached for an item number in Osthi. Since this film is a remake of Dabangg, there were speculations on who would be roped in for the popular item number ‘Munni’. Then it was said that Nayan had been approached and she declined the offer.

When behindwoods.com correspondent enquired about this to STR, he clarified that the item song for the Tamil version has not been composed yet and therefore question of approaching Nayan does not arise now. He said that only when the song is composed, he can zero in on the right actress for it.
