Sukumari hospitalized

South India's senior most actress Sukumari, who has acted in over 2,000 movies in Malayalam and Tamil, has been admitted to a private hospital at Kodungalloor in Thrissur. She is suffering from high fever and has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit since she is diabetic.

Sukumari, who won numerous awards including four State awards and a National award, is active in films from the age of 10. In 2003, she was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her contributions towards the arts.
