Amma to safeguard Tamil film industry

An announcement was made in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Friday that the State Government headed by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa would take all necessary steps to safeguard the interests of Tamil film industry.
Tamil Nadu Information and Publicity Minister Senthamizhan gave this assurance, during a Special Call Attention Motion in the Assembly on the troubles prevailing in the Tamil film industry due to the alleged dominance of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's family members during the previous DMK regime.
"The State government is not controlling the production and release of films. However, we have received complaints that many producers are finding it tough to produce or release their movies," the Minister said.
Stating that the rule of law prevails in the State after the AIADMK came to power; Senthamizhan said that Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa would take all efforts to protect the interests of Tamil film industry.
