They strongly believe their film will add a brand new perspective to Tamil Cinema. At a recent press meet in Chennai, the Mankatha team shared their experiences while shooting. The film will also have two newcomers, Ashwin and Mahat, in prominent roles. Jayaprakash, who plays the role of Ajith's father in this Venkat Prabhu directed flick, revealed that he plays the role of an arrogant dad, which is very different from his earlier films. " I am working with Venkat Prabhu for the first time in Mankatha. I am really thankful for the opportunity," he added.

Guess who is behind Thala Ajith's salt and pepper look in Mankatha? It's costume designer Vasuki Bhasker (Venkat Prabhu's cousin). Apparently, when Venkat Prabhu decided to give Ajith a complete image makeover for the film, Vasuki suggested the George Clooney look and the duo immediately agreed.

Apart from all these, the costume designer has also give a new look for Premji (with curly hair and funky T shirts). At the music launch function, Premji confirmed that he has lot of punch dialogues in the film and the audience will definitely love it.

Gangai Amaraen, the proud father, has also penned the lyrics of two songs in Mankatha. At the recent press meet, he said, "Venkat Prabhu is my Thala. I am really proud of my sons (Venkat Prabhu and Premji), Yuvan and Vasuki. They are bringing a new perspective to Kollywood with every film. I wish them all the best." Mankatha is produced by Cloud Nine Movies and Yuvan's songs, which were launched recently, are already topping the charts.

The film is likely to grace theatres by the last week of August! So let's wait and watch!
