Song: Osthi Maamey
Singer(s): Baba Sehgal, Ranjith, Rahul Nambiar, Naveen Madhav
Lyrics: Vaali
S.Thaman starts off with a flyer with 'Tamil Naatu cop dan, darani elam top dan.. osthi'. His tune has aptly blended with Vaali's lyrics. In fact, the lyricist has played wonderfully with the words. Baba Sehgal steals the show with his voice, whereas, supporting vocalists make sure that the song maintains the same momentum.

Song: Unnale Unnale
Singer(s): Thaman, Rita
Lyrics: Yuga Bharathi
The music director himself has taken the responsibility of singing in 'Unnale unnale...'. In his unique way, he has crooned the song for which Yuga Bharathi has penned the lyrics. The musician has tried to keep it simple, when it comes to instrumentals. But Rita's voice goes unnoticed, as Thaman is all over the track.

Song: Neduvaali
Singer(s): Rahul Nambiar, Mahathi
Lyric: Yuga Bharathi
Here comes yet another mass number. It is a fast track and has some interesting lines. A cop expressing his feeling to his girlfriend in the words, which he uses in his day-to-day life. Rahul Nambiar-Mahathi have given their best to make it a hit in a first few hearings. Chorus and beats are also the plus points of the song. It is arguably one of the best songs of the album.

Song: Pondatti
Singer(s): STR
Lyrics: STR
Triumph card is out in the form of 'Pondaati...'. Simbu has gone solo for the lyrics penned by himself. The rhythm and the voice have mixed well with tune. Thaman could not have got a better singer than STR. It is an instant hit, which will have larger appeal when seen with visuals.

Song: Kalasala Kalasala
Singer(s): LR Easwari, Vijaya T Rajendar, Sola Sai
Lyrics: Vaali
The moment you play the much-hyped, 'Kalasala', the Tamil version of 'munni badnaam hui...' it invites you to shake your legs. LR Easwari brings freshness to the song with her strong voice. As it banks entirely on the strong vocals, Thaman has utilised his singers to the fullest. The item track will be a treat for your eyes, when seen Mallika Sherawat moving her hips on-screen.

Verdict:
Thaman's music sense should be praised, as he has given the songs, which could only fit in this genre films. The bottom line is that Osthi audio is Simbu's Diwali gift for the mass audience. However, lack of conventional melody tracks might not go well with a section of fans. Osthi Maamey, Pondatti and Kalasala are the highlights of the album.
