Rajinikanth has always shied away from public eye on his birthdays. The Superstar had been celebrating his birthdays only with close family and friends and most of the time he leaves the city to some undisclosed location.

This time, Rajini fans in Chennai are planning a function in which they intend to distribute assistance in the form of money or goods to the poor and needy on a large-scale. This event is planned to be held a day after Rajini's birthday (December 13) and the Rajini Chennai District Fans Association are spearheading it.

Rajini is yet to given his nod for this function and in case he cannot attend it, the fans are planning to request him to give a video message which will be telecast during the event.
