Many of you would not have been aware that Superstar Rajni made deep inroads during last week. His old film Baasha saw screening in select theatres around Chennai including Anna Theater at Mount Road..

It was reported that the film fetched immense collection for the theatres for the entire week. In fact this kind of granules are expected from the old legends MGR and Sivaji Ganesan. The film distributors feel that even after so many decades the films of MGR and Sivaji have good feedback from the audience. Even within a week the films make very decent collection compared to the recent low budget films, they claim.

It is quite amazing to know that Baasha has made such a marvelous deed to the theaters. This should be taken on the background that Baasha has been shown on Sun TV network over a hundred times (Atleast once or thrice everymonth), but still there is a huge audience & expectation for the film when it is re-released. Theater owners said that the majority of the crowd has been college going youth who have even bunked classes to catch the mega flick. Such is the power of Superstar.
