The Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) is protesting against AR Murgadoss directed Suriya starrer 7aum Arivu.
Their protest stems from the fact that the film's producers agreed to cut to scenes glorifying Tamils for the sake of Sri Lankan censors.
The films pro-Tamil scenes have been cut by the Sri Lankan censor board who insisted on it for the film to be screened in Sri Lanka.
Says Kannan Secretary of HMK : " Why did the producers agree to this double standards, at a time when they were boasting that the film highlights Tamils and their culture ?"
The HMK plans to organise protest meetings and has urged the makers of the film to take corrective meausres.
