Kamal is donning the role of a terrorist in this film. He has erected the sets resembling Afghanistan in Chennai and the shooting was taking place there.

40 Afghans have donned the roles of mujahideens. An Afghan Ur Rahman who is one among the 40 who had acted in this film while speaking to the media said, "When we saw the sets we had the feeling as if we were in Afghanistan.
Next day when we went to the sets we saw an Afghani person walking into the sets. Though he was looking like an ordinary person, his looks were stunning. They told us that he was Kamal Haasan. The shooting of the sequences took place for 7 days. During this period we spoke to him only 5 times. Speaking to him each time was an experience.

One day he asked me that how we will do Namaz in Afghanistan. I showed him. He immediately did the way I did. Another thing that surprised us that he was able to speak few words in Pashto which was supposed to be our mother tongue."
