The team always has something special for the audiences. Right from Subramaniapuram to Easan, the combo of Sasikumar and Samuthirakkani with varieties of music directors have been emerging as winners. Following Nadodigal it’s time for Samuthirakkani to wear the greasepaint as director and Sasikumar takes on the lead role. Sundar C Babu comes up scoring music with a touch that reminiscence of his previous work with the same team in Nadodigal. The album has six tracks that include a theme song.

1. Vidheye Pottri

Voices: Sasikumar, Samuthirakkani
Lyrics: Yugabharathi

Something that captures your senses for the first time you hear it. This isn’t a song but rendition of poem by Sasikumar and Samuthikarani that starts with Vidheye Potri, Parama Potri and so on. Sundar C Babu adds more intensity with his background music. The bass and string works are excellent here.

2. Yaar Ivan

Voices: Shankar Mahadeven
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

The first few words from the song itself reveal this all about the praises upon the protagonist. The composition and rhythmic pattern faintly reminds us off the song ‘Sambo Siva Sambo’ from Nadodigal. The beats on accompaniment are the same and we have the same singer Shankar Mahadevan. His style of intonation and nature remains the same as in that same song referred here.

3. Vedi Pottu

Vocals: Vel Murugan, Thanjai Selvi
Lyrics: Kabilan

The track sounds like a festival song and it all such ingredients to emblazon the feeling. Imagine when you have Vel Murugan and Thanjai Selvi; how the track is gonna be. It’s an ultimate celebration for the listeners and will be the same in theatres as well. Sundar C Babu has used limited instrumentals and yet keeps us engrossed.

4. Yaar Ivan

Voices: Chinmayee
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

It’s nothing but the female version of the second track that has some additional impact. It sounds like the visuals will have more happenings and is expected to be placed during the critical point of film. The running strings in the accompaniment give more vividness to the song.

5. Engirindhu

Voices: Chinmayee
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

Can this be regarded as the best track in this album? Obviously, Chinmayee creates such a great impact with her high-pitched vocalism. It’s the heartfelt feelings of a belle about her beau over expressing her gratitude for being her savior. Much alike all the previous songs, even this one sound like a situational track.

6. Poraali Theme

A perfect theme indeed…. The orchestration and the chorus parts have been very well arranged and it clearly implies that the film something strong and appealing to look for. After the prototyped pattern that retains for first couple of minutes, the track has a sudden transition in tempo with more percussion. But it’s the string works that awes us all.

On the whole, ‘Poraali’ has such tracks that don’t seem to grab everyone’s attention as the songs except ‘Vedi Pottu’ are more like the situational tracks with accordance to the screenplay. Doubtlessly, at least couple of tracks will become instant hits following its theatrical release.
