News Update 2

The shooting of an untitled Telugu film starring actress Shriya Saran was today allegedly interrupted by some Telangana supporters here, police said.

The film unit was shooting some scenes at the Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University campus in Rajenderanagar here, when about 200 students from the campus reached the area and demanded the actress raise ''Jai Telangana'' slogans, which she did, they said.

"Shriya Saran raised ''Jai Telangana'' slogan twice, but the students insisted that she should again raise the slogan for the third time and it was then that the actress got scared and rushed inside her van," a police officer said.

Shriya, 29, who has starred in films like ''Awarapan'', ''Urumi'' and Rajinikanth''s ''Sivaji: The Boss'', claimed that the activists threw stones at her car and posted photos of the damaged windows on Twitter.

"How can they break my car, throw stones, stop shoot and threaten me to say Jai Telangala on TV, that to in broad day light, Police staring at all of this! what about freedom? Safety? (sic)"
"Thank god the stone didn''t hit me. Both the windows are broken. Seriously! I''m disgusted. I''m born in India and I deserve my freedom and safety is my right," she tweeted.

Police, however, said that they did not have any information with regard to damage of window-panes of a car.
Though, they said that after the incident the film unit stopped shooting and left the place.

"After hearing about the incident a police team went to the area and dispersed the students. The film unit did not inform the police that they were shooting at the campus," the police officer said, adding they did not book any case in this regard as they haven''t received any complaint.

The untitled film also stars Tollywood actor Allari Naresh, though he was not at the location.
