Actress Anjali is quite happy that she has had a hat-trick of hits with her latest film Thambi Vettothi Sundaram (TVS) managing to do decent business at the box-office.
The actress has had hit films like Ajith’s Mankatha, Saravanan-directed Engeyum Eppodhum and has completed a trio of hit films with TVS. Based reportedly on real-life incidents and characters, TVS has Karan opposite Anjali.

Anjali, incidentally, is believed by many as an actress of substance who is likely to survive and sustain herself in the field for many years to come. Unlike many of her contemporaries, Anjali doesn’t believe that looking and acting glamoruously would be sufficient for an actress. The actress has, though, an old issue to contend with due to which she has sought legal recourse to sort it out.

When she was an upcoming actress a few years back, she had starred in an advertisement to promote a mobile dealer based in Chennai. The shop, incidentally, has branches all over the State. As she was hardly a beginner at the time of starring in the commercial, Anjali was only paid an advance of Rs.46,000 to figure in the advertisement though she was promised that she would be paid Rs.5.00 lakhs.

Despite many years having gone by, the mobile shop reportedly didn’t bother to pay up the remaining amount of Rs.4.5 lakhs to Anjali. As Anjali has grown into a star and has been earning considerably, the mobile shop might have thought that she might not need the amount or might forget about it. The company, though, continues to display Anjali’s photographs prominently at all its outlets.

After waiting for a long time, Anjali has now sought the help of the Court and has asked that she be paid Rs.20 lakhs for the company not paying up her dues properly and still continuing to use her image for promoting it.
