The Madras high court has restrained VVD and Sons Private Ltd from using pictures of Kajal Aggarwal, a leading actress in Andhra Pradesh, for promoting its products.

The actress had entered into an agreement with the company for promoting its hair oil and coconut oil products through advertisements in films, TV, magazines, and hoarding, on Dec. 29, 2008, for one year.

However, the company used her images even after the expiry of the agreement in Dec. 2009.

Kajal says 'i have personally requested the company to discontinue using me in their advertisements but they doesn't seem to listen so, that's why i moved to the court she adds.

Aggarwal sued the firm, seeking Rs 2.5 crore as damages and also sought to restrain it from using the advertisement material.

The company had, before the single judge, agreed not to use her images or her profile on any of its products except with her written consent.

On hearing her petition, the division ordered the oil company not to use the actress’s name anymore.
