Director of Naan Avan Illai, Selva claims a latest Hindi release 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' with Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in the leads produced by Yash Chopra under Yash Raj Films is slightly a copy of NAI.

Ladies vs Ricky Bahl directed by Maneesh Sharma has scenes as in Naan Avan Illai which is part 2 of Naan Avan Illai directed by K.Balachander, which was originally directed in Hindi based on the Marathi play. Selva, producer of the current Naan Avan Illai has grabbed copy rights of this Hindi film 'Wo Mein Nahin' and K.Balachander along with Marathi play. The director is now shocked to know from his friends that Ladies vs Ricky Bahl is lifted from these films.

Naan Avan Illai is a remake of Classic director K.Balachander's movie with similar title casting Gemini Ganesan. Selva made second part to this highly successful movie.
