The battle is between two groups of theatre owners who are locking their horns over the late night shows in the state.
They are contemplating on if the night shows which, as of now, begin at 10 p.m. should continue or cease to exist.

Abirami Ramanathan reasons out that women folk are not secure during these shows and the other issue is the dwindling number of people for the shows at these hours. So he wants the last show for the evening to begin by 7.30 p.m.

But Mr Paneerselvam who heads the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association(TNTOA), which controls nearly 960 out of the 1260 odd screens in Tamil Nadu, has come out strongly at his counterpart Abirami Ramanathan. He has reportedly revealed that the former who was expelled from TNTOA is being made to say so by forces that is acting against the government.

Mr Paneerselvam is reported to have also said that Abirami Ramanathan is trying to bring politics into this issue.
