The Theatre Owners’ Association had said that the theatres in Tamil Nadu will not screen any film that is distributed by Sun Pictures.
Even films that gave their satellite rights to Sun Pictures were boycotted by the theatres.

The reason behind is that Sun Pictures owed about Rs. 4 crore to various theatres owners and until this amount was settled, it was decided not to extend cooperation for their films. Following this, films like Osthe and Mambattiyan were in a lot of trouble.

But with the intervention of the Producers’ Council, it has been decided that the issue will be resolved amicably by both the parties concerned on or before 31st January. Now, the films with the Sun Pictures’ tag are free to be released without any hitches.
