" THUPPAKI " start rolling in Chennai from next week.

The Murugadoss and Ilayathalapathy film titled Thupaki is all set to roll shortly.

The producer of the film Kalaipuli S Thanu has confirmed the same. He also revealed that they have registered the title of the film since it has much importance. The film's unit is all set and ready to roll from Chennai in the coming week. The team is touted to travel to Mumbai post its stint in Chennai.

'Thupaki' sees Vijay in the lead role with Kajal Aggarwal playing his heroine. This film sees Vijay donning the cop's uniform and is touted to follow the action thriller genre. With AR Murugadoss in the captain's chair we can sure expect class.

Santosh Sivan is the cameraman for this film. This will be the ace cinematographer-director's first film with Vijay. With high-profile names involved in the cast and crew, expectations are mounting on this project. Music for 'Thupaki' will be taken care of by Harris Jayaraj.

Both Vijay and Murugadoss felt that Thuppakki, a Tamil name, had tremendous title value and they have already registered it with the Producers' Council.

Rumours were rife that Vijay was playing a cop in the movie and hitting the gym every day to get fit and toned for the role.

Now the latest buzz is that the Pokkiri actor rules out playing a cop. “These are just rumours. I am not hitting the gym for any particular character, I always do my workouts to stay fit,” he reveals with a smile.
