After playing the role of a mentally challenged person convincingly and realistically and winning the hearts of his fans, movie-goers and critics, actor ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram is back to one of his favourite genre of films: action.
Vikram’s next offering would be Rajapattai which is directed by Suseendhiran of Vennila Kabadikuzhu fame.
Youthful, bubbly and sexy-looking Deeksha Seth, already a name to reckon with in Tollywood, would be debuting as heroine in Tamil films with Rajapattai opposite Vikram. Vikram plays a gym instructor in the film which is said to possess all the ingredients of a commercial potboiler. Vikram himself had said during the release of Deivathirumagal that he personally loved doing more and more action-based films.
Produced by PVP Cinemas at a huge budget, the film’s distribution and release rights were secured by Gemini Lab, which also is producing the Vijay-Jiiva-Srikanth starrer Nanban directed by Shankar. As Nanban was scheduled for a Pongal (January 14) release, Gemini was under the impression that it would screen Nanan in all the theatres where it would be releasing Vikram’s Rajapattai this month.
All of a sudden, Gemini pulled out of distributing and releasing the film a few days back which put a question mark over the theatrical release of Rajapattai. It now turns out PVP Cinemas, the producers, would be releasing the film all over the State and elsewhere on their own on December 23rd. The movie sees audio release tomorrow, Telegu version of Rajapattai ‘Veedinthe’ audio is already out!
