Cameraman Madhie wins Colors Screen Awards

Cameraman Madhie of Veyil, Paiyaa and Naan Mahaan Alla fame who recently shot Rajapattai starring Vikram, had made an entry into Bollywood in 2011, with the film , Shaitan.

The film was directed by Bejoy Nambiar, a former assistant to Mani Ratnam. The film went on to garner great appreciation and accolades. Now, it has gone one step ahead and one four awards at the Colors Screen Awards ceremony recently.

And among the awards is one for Best Cinematography, won by none other than Kollywood cameraman Madhie. The award ceremony held at the Bandra Kurla complex in Mumbai was hosted by Shahrukh Khan.

The cameraman is undoubtedly thrilled as he has so far one only one award in his career, being the Film Fans award last year for a Tamil film.

"It feels great that my very first Hindi film has been recognized with four awards and my work has been singled out for mention with an award. Its very encouraging," says an elated Madhie.

"The other films nominated for best cinematography included Delhi Belly, Rockstar, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dum Maro Dum. I feel very happy that I won the award against such stiff competition."
