The ongoing tug-of-war between FEFSI and Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC) further intensified
with FEFSI coming down heavily on TFPC and director Cheran for criticizing Ameer and FEFSI's stand in the salary row.

In the meeting held yesterday, the members of FEFSI strongly condemned director Cheran's remarks on Ameer and FEFSI and announced that with the permission of the Government that they were planning a demonstration at the MGR Memorial to condemn Producers' Council's decision of forming a new, parallel workers association and challenging FEFSI.

Recently, TFPC instructed producers to use outside workers for their films and criticized Ameer for his support to FEFSI.
