The long pending forgotten film Mayilu was originally produced by Moserbaer in association with Prakash Raj's Duet Cinema.

The film was completed two years back and was waiting for a release. Debutant director Jeevan's Mayilu stars newface Shri and Shammu who played Prakash Raj’s daughter in Kanchivaram in the lead. The USP of the film is that it has music by maestro Illayaraja.

Prakash Raj in an interview two years back had said: ” Mayilu is a very realistic film, which will be a trendsetter of sorts. Isaignani has added rustic feel to the film with his music".

Now after many months of lying in the cans suddenly Mayilu newspaper ads have started with 'coming soon' announcement.

Prakash Raj is no longer a co-producer, as the film gets ready to be released by Moserbaer.
