It is the time for the directors to go back to the old combinations. With Vettai being finalized with Maddy in the lead role, after a decade, now Shankar is all set to go ahead with his Anniyan.
Incidentally Shankar was waiting for two main projects – one with Rajnikanth and another with Ajith for AM Ratnam. But things turned out other way as Rajnikanth is making his days for Kochadaiyan 3D while Ajith's film is going for Vishnuvardan. Hence it was quite natural for Shankar to brush his mind to his personal style.

In fact, he succeeded in delivering the remake of 3 Idiots in a nonchalant manner. For many of us, it could be a different experience with Shankar because he had not forayed any such movie in his career. Nanban has no grandeur of locales, or costumes or settings. So Shankar is making his mind to have the soup in his own cup. Vikram too is fascinated to work again with Shankar despite mixed fortunes for Anniyan. In the event of this project coming to shape, Shakar would reveal everything soon.
