Sun Network, the popular South Indian television network, has introduced four more channels in the prime languages of South India.
It has launched four action movie channels like Sun Action in Tamil, Gemini Action in Telugu, Udaya Action in Kannada and Surya Action in Malayalam.


The action channels will be premium channels (Paid service) and commercials-free service. The company’s press release stated that by introducing these channels, Sun Network has ventured into the ad-free zone and also to ‘action movies’ genre.

The existing genres are general entertainment, movies, music, news, kids and comedy. With this development, Sun Network has expanded its bouquet to 29, while it airs 10 channels in Tamil, it has eight in Telugu, seven in Kannada and four in Malayalam.

Sun TV Network has launched four Ad free action movie channels -- Sun Action in Tamil, Gemini Action in Telugu, Suriyan TV in Kannada and Surya Action in Malayalam. Sun TV said these are premier pay channels. With the latest launch, the total number of channels in Sun's bouquet has risen to 29, of which there are ten channels in Tamil, eight channels in Telugu, seven channels in Kannada and four channels in Malayalam languages, Sun TV said in a statement.

Sun TV Network's net profit rose 7.6% to Rs 180.12 crore on 6.2% growth in revenue to Rs 451.26 crore in Q2 September 2011 over Q2 September 2010.

Sun TV Network operates and owns a clutch of satellite channels in four south Indian languages. It also produces and distributes films and owns and runs FM radio stations.
