'Thai Pongal' is a harvest festival celebrated by Tamilians across the world. Traditionally celebrated at the time of harvest, Pongal is a festival of prosperity associated with harvest by thanking the Sun God, rain and the farm animals that have helped in the harvest.
Celebrating this festive occasion, Vijay has lined-up some exciting shows and blockbuster movies on January 15 (day of Pongal), January 16 (Maatu Pongal) and January 17, 2012.

Vijay TV Pongal Special Programs 2012- 15th January 2012
At 0800 hrs Pongal specials begin with Ramraj Cotton 'Sivakumar udan Nerukku Ner', a two hour special with actor Sivakumar, on the journey of his life, his star sons Surya & Karthi, their weddings etc.,  Watch the inside story revealed along with exclusive bytes and clippings in this special show.

He reveals some exclusive information on his upcoming mega film "Viswaroopam".

At 1430 hrs watch Bingo Tangles "Why this Kolaveri Dhanush?" powered by Nandu brand lungi  a lively conversation with the latest rage Dhanush and his biggest mass song "Why This Kolaveri", amidst a thousand fans with interesting questions, rapid fire rapping etc will form interesting portions on this show. At 1900 hrs Poorvika Mobile Ungalil yaar Prabhu Deva powered by Om Shakthy Homes special brings you a power packed electrifying dance show! The selected contestants will be delivering high energy performances throughout the show.

At 2100 hrs Super Hit show of Vijay TV, Lion Dates 'Neeya Naana' powered by Ranindia will have an interesting topic of 'Why the boys are hesitant to marry city girls?'.  A group of young city girls vs boys debate over this topic moderated by anchor Gopinath.
