In the recent crucial meeting held by the Tamil Film Producers' Council an important decision was taken that big budget films would get more release dates now adding three more days in a year.

The President of the Council S A Chandrasekaran said, "As the distributors and exhibitors felt that only five days in a year for big films would not suffice as there will be heavy competition among the big films in a given particular time and this would affect the business of the industry the council has decided to add three more days as against only five days a year. Now, the big films can also see its releases during first week of March and June and in mid-December."

Many top production houses and the distributors and exhibitors have expressed their happiness over the decision of the Producers Council.
