In a recent interview to a popular Tamil magazine Aishwarya Dhanush, the director of film '3' and hero Dhanush's wife, angrily shrugged-off the rumours about Dhanush – Shruti relationship!

When quizzed about the high rumour she said, "These types of talks are everywhere and since we are in film media it is highly discussed. Firstly, I don't care about these rumours as I know what Dhanush is. Do the media know more about Dhanush than me?"

The debut director also gave a befitting reply when she was asked about another rumour that it was Dhanush who was directing the movie and not her saying, "You can ask any of my unit members that who directed the movie. Of course, Dhanush is a well experienced artist and he did gave me many ideas and suggestions that sometimes I agreed and sometimes I did not as a director. I very well had a command over the script and also in the set."

'3' has Dhanush and Shruti in the lead. It is because of their characters and the on screen chemistry and their closeness off-screen in studios and public appearances rumours spread that the duo had started an affair and Rajini family was very much worried about the reports in the media.

Shruti Hassan had strongly criticized the article that a Tamil magazine carried about the alleged relationship and sought an apology from the magazine. The magazine also later apologized to the actress for hurting her with the report.
