It is official! Sunir Kheterpal of In Entertainment, the producers of Billa-2 have confirmed that they have garnered in “excess of Rs 40 Cr for all rights of the film”. It is phenomenal by any yardstick, and the highest ever for an Ajith film.

Sunir Kheterpal, the producer of Billa 2 says in a press statement: “There was a huge interest amongst potential buyers for the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of Billa-2. In Entertainment (India) Limited, the presenter and producer along with Wide Angle Creations, have entered into a sale agreement with Aascar Films for theatrical distribution rights of Tamil Nadu. Deal Value is upwards of Rs 26 Crores. All distribution rights of the film, excepting Kerala and Hindi Dubbing rights, have been sold at record breaking prices garnering revenues exceeding Rs 40 Crore.”

This makes Billa-2, Ajith’s highest revenue generator before release and one of the top pre-sales revenue generating films of all time in the Tamil.

Aascar Ravichandran confirmed the deal by saying : “Billa 2 is a hugely anticipated summer release this year and we are very happy to associate with INE for release of the film in Tamil Nadu. It is an Ajith starrer, part of the hugely popular Billa franchise and the first big film to hit screens post IPL this year. We are very excited about this association and are working towards giving the film tremendous publicity, marketing and promotional push in May.”
