Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new building for the South Indian Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, the 25th of April!

The Chief Minister participated in the function held at Secretariat and through video conferencing unveiled the foundation stone plaque laid at the construction site.

Laying the foundation stone Ms. Jayalalithaa said the present chamber building was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister C N Annadurai in 1968 and former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran has participated in many events that happened in the chamber building. She also went down memory lane saying that she had also participated in many functions that happened in the chamber building.

The Chief Minister assured that she would be physically present at the venue to inaugurate the new building when it is completed. She also assured that her Government would extend all possible help contributing to the growth of cinema.
