Rajini Letter Copy - I Cannot Take Responsibility for ‘3’ Failure

Superstar Rajinikanth told distributors of film '3' that he cannot refund the losses or take any responsibility of film '3'.

Though the film is appreciated by filmgoers and critics for its making the '3' did not do well in the box-office both in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The distributors who had bought the rights for huge sum have incurred big loss with the film.

Natty Kumar, who bought the Telugu distribution rights says, "I bought the distribution rights of the Telugu version of the film for Rs. 6 Crore but in return I could get Rs. 1.7 Crore only as the filmed failed at the box-office."

Even in Tamil Nadu the film was just above average. The NSC distributor, Kalidas, also laments, "Seeing the popularity of the 'Kolaveri' song I bought the film for a big price but it did not fetch that much amount and it was a big loss only for me."

It is learnt that the distributors approached Dhanush, Aishwarya and superstar Rajinikanth to refund the loss they incurred but the office of Rajinikanth has refused to discuss about the failure of the film as it claims that the film is no way connected with Rajinikanth and so he cannot refund the losses met by the distributors.

It is the practice of Rajinikanth that if his films fail at box-office and the distributors incur losses superstar refunds the money as a compensation for the losses. But, since '3' was produced by Kasthuriraja's R K Productions and Dhanush's Wunderbar Films Rajinikanth has declined to pay the amount to distributors.
